- You need to have 5 skill points

100 pounds that will be removed from your purse..

Louis is the french currency in game, but it's more appropriate to use pounds as we're in England.
Thank you very much, I'll inform Paul right now.

PostSubject: Re: Grammatical/Spelling Errors   Grammatical/Spelling Errors EmptyFri Jan 16, 2009 12:04 pm

Ok, you'll be hearing much from me as I do like games I'm in to be successful and I do know that many players are very picky and see poor grammar as a sign of a bad game even if it isn't, in fact, the case.

Ok, one of the first things I notices is that, while in the log-in area the game title is set for the english version, it reverts to the French version in-game. Also, when one logs out of the game they are sent directly to the french version of the home page. If there would be any way to correct that it would be a nice cosmetic change.

Looking down the left-hand menu, the only possible correction I see is using maybe "letters" instead of "missives"

Now, looking at the main screen. The location information I have "Sullivan is actually in Reims, town in Remensis" I suggest changing this either to "player is located in Reims, in Remensis" or "player is located in Reims, a town in Remensis" the indefinite article is not optional in English, and "located" makes better sense to an English speaker.

Above this, my suggested change is to "You are picking, and you have eaten"

In the "Town" main window, I see no need for changes.

Town Hall: No corrections
Market: change from "you have found following things" to "you have found the following things."
Church: Not translated yet
Bank: No corrections
Forest: change "you can do various daily activities" to "you can perform various daily activities"

My Home: Change "Welcome in your home" to "Welcome to your home" also "Update your informations" to "Update your information"
--Your possessions: "have got" changed to "have" or "possess".
--Your Level and Characteristics: No changes
--Sponsor somebody...: use either "get some money" only or "get some currency name" having both together is redundant.
--Update your information: No changes

Fields: It looks like I'm getting an error page in French. Might be good to have an English error page.

My Profile: "Send a letter to him"; "Official Information"; "[i]character[/] was born..."; I'm not sure by what is meant by "He is awakened"; descriptions are not yet translated. Rest is ok.

My Level: See under "My Home-->Your Level and Characteristics"

My Missives (suggest "letters"): Not translated

My News: No Changes

Institutions: Not translated

Prince's Residence: "Welcome to the residence...";
--Write a letter to the Prince: not translated
--Donate to the Principality: no changes

Court: Not yet translated

Library: No changes

Cathedral: Not yet translated

Garrison: Change "if you have come a way so far" to "if you have come this far" Embolden "Attention" when used for emphasis; "Enlist Yourself (Warning:Instantaneous)"

Papal Palace: "Welcome to the residence..."

Heraldry: No changes

Travel: Not yet translated

Guide: Is in French for me, maybe that's because I'm in a french town, but that should probably be looked at if English-speaking players are going to be put everywhere.

Forum: I'm linked to the French, not the English, forums. Once again, probably should be fixed for English-speaking accounts.

Ok, that's my suggestions for today. :-) By the way, is it by mistake I'm an English-speaking player but was placed in Reims? If so, I'd happily see myself in London if that is possible.

I see changes have been made already. I noticed a couple I missed:

Bank and Heraldry "Welcome to" instead of "Welcome at" in both.

I can understand some french if I take my time to think out the meanings, later I may look over the untranslated sections to give suggestions.

In possessions, after you eat the text should read "You have just eaten"

In Town Hall, when you click to work for the town guard it should read "You are working as a Guard for the day."

"Vous etes garde and you have eaten" should be "You are a Guard and you have eaten."

In English Game Title

"Historical and Exiting Role Play" should be "Historical and Exciting Role Play"

Exiting would be that it is leaving Shocked

And "is borned" is wrong, the correct form is "is born" (or better, "was born") Wink

It should be 'born' indeed in stead of borned.

I have also improved the text on the log in page.

Also, the characteristics are badly translated. I would suggest the following adjustments.

Quote :
Dextérité => Dexterity
Estime => Esteem
Réflexion => Tought
Pratique => Skill
Puissance => Power

The button ‘HIKE’ is very badly chosen too and could better be changed to ‘TRAVEL’
