Edward walks trough the palace the way the guard told him.
He hopes the directions were correct,..

Finally he finds the right place, that guard actually knew what he was talking about.
How is that for a surprise...

Edward looks at his cloths and tries to put them right.
He feels with his hand if his hair is right, but as always it isn't that perfect.
He has had troubles with it for ever.

He breath in deeply and knocks on the door waiting for reply.

The Lady High Chancellor was busy reading a whole pile of urgent letters when suddenly somebody knocked on the door. She raised an eyebrow. Did she have a meeting today? If so she couldn't remember. She sighed. The letters would have to wait until later.

« Yes, come in. »

When Edward heard the words to come in he froze for a second.
He was about to have a talk with a princess.

He put a nice smile on his face and opened the door.
When he entered the room he made a bow to the princes.
When he rose up he smiled at her.

Your royal highness,
I was summoned by your letter to have a meeting with you.
What can I do for your highness?

The man bowed, and then talked. Speaking without permission; bad points.

«I have invited you her to propose you something. The Queen is in need of a Royal Guard, and at the head of a Royal Guard there needs to be a Captain of the Royal Guard. I thought that, since your experience, you might be interested. »

She paused for a second, and then went on.

«Of course it’s not up to me to appoint you or to take such a decision. So if you are interested, would you please follow me to the office of Her High Grace the Regent? »

Edward was clearly not on his best in this royal presence
Though he tried to act if he was around royalty every day.

I am honoured by your proposal, your highness.
And certainly I will except such position when offered to me.
I would gladly follow you anywhere you would take me.

Edward bows again to the princess.

Than I would presume that we will go to Her High Grace the Regent now?

Edward doesn't know if it is right to speak to a princes this way but he doesn't like to wait for no reason.
He waits till the princess moves and brings him to were he needs to be.
